BodBot Is Your Free Personal Trainer, Nutritionist and Coach

The new year is here and if you’re anything like me, you have a long list of new year resolutions that you’d like to keep. One of the things on that list may be to get healthy, lose weight or just improve your memory. All of those things and more, can be done thanks to a free personalised personal trainer named BodBot.

BodBot has been around for a while now, but it just came out of Alpha recently and is now ready to help a larger number of users reach their fitness goals.

Personal Trainer

BodBot works very similar to a real-life personal trainer, only this one is free. Upon signing up you’ll be asked general questions such as your gender, your fitness level and your fitness goals. Once provided the basic information, BodBot will analyse the data and give you a personalised set of exercises and nutritious requirements to meet your goal.

The main differentiating factor for BodBot is its ability to adjust to your fitness level as an individual. If you fail a certain exercise or training session, BodBot will automatically adjust your training program to help you ease your way up to the needed level.

In the initial signup process the user is required to select their fitness goals. BodBot will compile all the data received and give you a comprehensive list of your dietary requirements. Throughout the day, you’ll put everything you’ve eaten and BodBot will use these data to make sure you stay on track.

This feature is very similar to a food journal, but one that is easy to understand and integrated within your fitness program.

BodBot started off on the web but now has native apps for iOS, Android and Windows 8 Phone. Those who run on other platforms can take advantage of the web app available at All apps are free and offer a subscription plan that allows selecting multiple fitness goals.

The UI may not be the prettiest thing to look at but after a while you get used to the simplistic, unobstructed interface. The theme of the app carries across all platforms, which will ultimately help push forward a pleasant user experience.

The app doesn’t feel the need to hide all its great features behind a pretty interface, and from the looks of it,  the company is trying to keep content their first priority.

Final Thoughts

It has been a while since I’ve been this excited about an app. I’ve used BodBot for the past few days and I was absolutely blown away by the simplicity of the setup process. In a matter of minutes I had a solid exercise schedule and nutrition program that not only comprehensive but quite easy to carry out.

The company is preparing videos for the exercises and will gradually release them in future updates. This is going to be a game changer for fitness apps such as myfitnesspal and FitStar.
